AFGE Legal Services Program

Description

The largest program of its kind in the nation offers AFGE members free and discounted legal services. The panel of attorneys consists of over 1,000 carefully-selected, union-friendly law offices nationwide.

Eligibility

All current dues-paying members and their spouse and dependents are eligible to use this program.

Cost

There are no additional fees to obtain free or discounted legal services through this program.

To Add An Attorney

This program can be expanded in areas where there may be few or no participating attorneys by recommending a lawyer or firm who may be interested in becoming a part of the program. Please send the name of the firm, the contact person and the address to:

Special Notes

1. Members may access a legal directory on-line through the "member-only" section. A director of participating attorneys is available at www.nrccls.org/UP/AttSearch/AttSearch.cgi.
2. Discount does not apply to ownership or operation of a business, work related matters or actions against the union.
3. A participating lawyer is not obliged to take any case and may decline if he or she so chooses.
4. Old directories of participating attorneys should be discarded due to frequent updates. Please call for the most current listing or go to: www.nrccls.org/UP/AttSearch/AttSearch.cgi.

Limited only by the participating attorneys in the area (see "To Add an Attorney").
