SPECIAL NOTES:
- AFGE
has no involvement in the credit decision.
- Member
should allow five weeks from the time an application was mailed.
- The annual
percentage rate (APR) is based upon a member's credit record.
- Members
should understand that they must meet minimum credit criteria to obtain a
credit card, and that the bank will base their credit decision on a review
of the member's past credit history. Members who have been denied a credit
card should first request a copy of their credit history to be certain there
are no errors.
- All denials
generally fall into one of four categories: No credit history; delinquent
credit history; ratio of debt to income, or errors on the member's credit
history.
- Appeals
must be received within 30 days of the date of denial letter.
- To appeal
a denial over 30 days old, a fully-completed new application must accompany
the appeal.
